Sweet baby Judah, I so enjoyed finally meeting you! I loved listening to your sleepy baby grunts and watching all the little facial expressions you made as you drifted off to a sweet slumber. I loved seeing that you already had your own little personality. You knew that you wanted your hand up by your face. If I tried to swaddle you with your hand down, you made it clear that was not where you wanted it. And so we swaddled you with your hand near your cheek and you were content and there your hand stayed for almost every photograph – making those photographs perfectly you!

You were so sleepy and cuddly and well, just about as perfect as they come! I can’t believe what a full head of hair you have. Your momma and I were talking about how it has just a hint of red in it and wondering where it came from.  She mentioned your uncle had strawberry blonde hair when he was born. It is funny how genetics work and you can see traits of grandmas, grandpas and uncles in a tiny new life. I wonder what you will look like when you grow up. Will you look like your momma or daddy? A mixture of both? Will you still sleep with one hand touching your little cheek as you get older?

Wondering what you will be like as you grow is the fun of a sweet new life. You mommy and daddy will get to watch your personality unfold day by day. What a sweet gift!
